As the family of Mike Hopkins, we appreciate the opportunity to celebrate his life and have chosen to designate donations to the V Foundation for Cancer Research because Mike embodied the same spirit as Jim Valvano to "Don't Give Up ... Don't Ever Give Up!"®. Cancer research is important to us because I know, someday, cancer will be a disease of the past.

Mike graduated NC State in 1977 and has been an avid Wolfpack fan for many years. He fought a hard battle against cancer before his death in February 2020. Thank you for helping us support the JimmyV Foundation for cancer research! Go Pack!!

It was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State basketball coach and ESPN commentator. Since 1993, the Foundation has funded more than $250 million in cancer research grants nationwide. It awards 100% of direct donations to cancer research and programs. The V Foundation's endowment covers administrative expenses. The Foundation awards peer-reviewed grants through a competitive awards process vetted by an all-volunteer Scientific Advisory Committee.
