Since 2006, the brothers of The Delta Chi Fraternity have dedicated countless hours to their partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research. With over 120 chapters involved in fundraising, Delta Chi has raised more than $1,000,000 for the Foundation. Delta Chi Fraternity’s core values are friendship, character, justice and education – each of which have been exemplified in the brothers’ support of The V Foundation. The V Foundation was founded by ESPN and former award-winning NC State University basketball coach Jim Valvano. Coach Valvano was diagnosed with cancer in 1993. When he created the Foundation, he knew it was too late for research to save him. But he spent his last months creating a legacy of hope for those who would battle cancer after him.
In the past 23 years, The V Foundation has awarded more than $170 million to cancer research and related programs nationwide.
Earthball is the annual philanthropy event hosted by the American University chapter of The Delta Chi Fraternity. All proceeds are donated to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Earthball is a friendly competition in which teams of six compete to push the “Earthball” from the center of the field into the opponent's end zone. The game consists of two five-minute halves, and the winners of each match advance in the tournament, until a champion is crowned.
Teams may have 6-10 players, and the cost is $10 dollars per player.
This year's Earthball tournament will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 12:00pm in Fort Reno Park, off Belt Road in northwest Washington, DC.
Many thanks for your support -- If you have any questions about Earthball or would like to make a team, please contact Joe Flannery at firstname.lastname@example.org.
