Mark Grethel Day with Cincinnati Reds
I have been diagnosed and am under treatment for a rare form of cancer, Stage 4 Metastatic Neuroendocrine Cancer of the Colon. My physician team has estimated I have 6 - 12 months left to live. This is, as I am sure you can imagine, a very difficult pill to swallow and to see on paper.
As I find myself with little time, there are a few things I'd like to try to do, go and see, and on top of those I would like to raise funds for cancer research with my time remaining. We will have a few events (see below) that will be fundraisers for the V Foundation, but if you would like to make a donation at anytime you can do so by clicking the donate button on this page.
Our first fundraiser will be on May 14th 2019. Arrangements are all set for me to throw out the first pitch (with George Foster there with me) at Great American Ballpark, Reds versus Cubs!!! Tickets are available to purchase online at Facebook, Linkedin, and through my gofundme page, which you can find at https://www.gofundme.com/My-Bucket-List-and-beyond A portion of all tickets sold in my name will go to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Our next fundraiser will take place on Friday, July 19th at Oasis Conference Center in Loveland, Ohio. We'll have entertainment all night, a silent auction and we will split the pot to benefit The Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research. Come for the food, drinks and fireworks and know you are donating to a great cause!
Finally, planning has begun for a Golf Outing in August or September to raise funds for the V Foundation. Please stay tuned for more details on that event.
