Q: HOW ARE CONNOR"S CURE AND THE V FOUNDATION RELATED?
A: Stephanie McMahon, Paul "Triple H" Levesque and WWE created Connor's Cure in 2014 to honor WWE Fan Connor Michalek. Connor was a young WWE fan who lost his battle with medulloblastoma, a rare tumor that affects the brain and spinal cord.
Connor's Cure was initially created as a fund at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and in 2016, after raising nearly $1 million, Connor's Cure expanded their partnership with Children's Foundation to gain an important new ally - the V Foundation for Cancer Research. The partnership between Connor's Cure and the V Foundation for Cancer Research expands Connor's Cure outside of the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to support top research centers and hospitals nationwide.
As a result of this partnership, funds raised by WWE will support Connor's Cure through the V Foundation's grant-making process. The V Foundation's Scientific Advisory Committee, comprised of world-class physicians and research scientists, review and awards top-rated grant proposals from the nation's leading medical facilities. IN addition, fund will continue to support the research being done at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Q: WHAT TYPE OF FUNDRAISER SHOULD I HOST?
A: The types of fundraisers hosted by our supporters are as varied and unique as the hosts themselves! Let your passions and interests guide you; the best events are those that reflect the organizers. Choosing an event that excites you also ensures that you will be enthusiastic about planning and hosting your fundraiser to support Connor's Cure.
When selecting a format and planning your fundraiser, it is critical to consider the cost of hosting your initiative. The less your fundraiser costs to host, the more you will be able to donate to pediatric cancer research. Careful format selection, planning, and, if applicable, recruitment of sponsors and in-kind donations can all help reduce the cost of your event.

Q: WHEN SHOULD I HAVE MY EVENT?
A: For outdoor events, your first consideration will always be the weather. If you are hosting your fundraiser at a borrowed or rented venue, you will need to work with the venue to determine available dates. Once these basic considerations are accounted for you (and your committee) will want to select the available date that best allows you to maximize the support of your friends and community.
Q: DO I NEED TO REGISTER MY EVENT ONLINE WITH THE V FOUNDATION?
A: No, but we strongly recommend you do. Registering your event with us will give you access to resources designed to help you plan and host a successful fundraiser for cancer research. Registering will also grant you access to a customizable webpage for you to use to promote your event. This page can serve as a central hub of information for your event and serves as a simple way to show that you are fundraising on behalf of Connor's Cure. The webpage is easily shared and allows donors to contribute directly to Connor's Cure in the name of your fundraiser.
Q: IS THERE A FUNDRAISING MINIMUM FOR HAVING A FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT CONNOR'S CURE?
A: Every dollar plays an important role in the fight against cancer. No contribution is too small.
Q: CAN I HAVE ACCESS TO THE CONNOR'S CURE LOGO FOR MY FUNDRAISER?
A: When you register your event with us, we will provide access to the Connor's Cure logo, which you may use for activities surrounding your fundraiser.
Q: CAN A CONNOR'S CURE REPRESENTATIVE COME TO MY EVENT?
A: We are fortunate to have committed people like yourself who host events all around the world to benefit Connor's Cure and the V Foundation. While we wish we could be at all of these events, unfortunately, it is not feasible. We are, however, available by phone and email to answer your questions and help you host an incredibly successful event.
Q: DO I NEED TO SET UP A 501(c.)(3) FOR MY EVENT?
A: No, you do not. Creating a 501(c)(3) organization is a lengthy and expensive process and it is not necessary for volunteer event organizers to hold this classification.
